Year 4 project at the Architectural Association: The retrofit of Marks & Spencer’s flagship store at Marble Arch in London. The project looks at the suggested demolition and re-build proposal, and tries to achieve the same in a retrofit and minimum demolition; while keeping in mind the evolving nature of retail and office typologies on Oxford Street. The retrofit proposal also aims at creating a public building on one of London’s busiest streets, and one that brings back remote activities to the physical realm.
